Dr. Atish Shah is a licensed medical doctor and biomedical engineer at the forefront of healthcare innovation in Tanzania. As the founder of Rover Labs, he leads a multidisciplinary team developing affordable, locally made medical technologies tailored for underserved communities.
His company specializes in 3D-printed prosthetic and orthotic devices, as well as dental appliances, delivering cutting-edge, personalized solutions. Dr. Shah has been recognized by the African Union (Best AI & Robotics Innovation in Africa), the Royal Academy of Engineering, and the President of Tanzania for his contributions to medical innovation.
He collaborates with leading institutions such as the University of Dundee, Purdue University, and the University of British Columbia, advancing healthcare solutions at the intersection of medicine and technology. Through teaching, research, and hands-on development, Dr. Shah continues to drive transformative health solutions for the Global South.
Dr. Shewiyo will present on the application of artificial intelligence and data science in addressing global health challenges, with a focus on improving emergency medicine and trauma care in resource-limited environments.
