The 15th TAMSA General Assembly represents the democratic heart of our organization, bringing together delegates from medical schools across Tanzania and affiliated institutions from the broader East African region. This gathering serves as the supreme decision-making body of TAMSA, where policy directions are set, leadership is elected, and the future of medical education advocacy is determined.

This intensive day combines governance with professional development, featuring capacity building sessions and strategic planning workshops. Delegates will participate in committee sessions, plenary discussions, and electoral processes that will shape TAMSA's direction for the next two years.

Competition Overview

The Medical Ethical Moot Court provides medical students with the opportunity to engage in legal reasoning, ethical analysis, and advocacy skills through simulated court proceedings focused on medical ethics cases.

Electoral Procedures

Eligibility Criteria

For Candidates:

  • Active TAMSA member for minimum 2 years
  • Good academic standing
  • No disciplinary actions in past 2 years
  • Endorsement from local chapter

For Voters:

  • Registered delegate from member institution
  • Current membership fees paid
  • Attendance at pre-GA orientation
  • Valid student identification

Voting Process

Secret Ballot

All voting conducted via secret ballot to ensure privacy and independence

Simple Majority

Candidates require 50% + 1 of valid votes cast to win

Run-off Elections

If no candidate reaches majority, run-off between top 2 candidates
